Visualizing Autism - Interactive GIS Mapping Applet

This applet lets you zoom into any area of the state of PA and exam the autism prevalence in any of the 501 school districts. The applet lets you zoom and pan into the data. It also lets you search on the name of any school district and zoom directly into that school district. You can turn on or off the school district labels. You can toggle between the different years data (2001, 2002, 2003) to exam the trend of the autism prevalence. You identify any autism hot spots and click on the spot and view the raw prevalence data. Warning: this applet is very large (3.5 MB) so it is only recommended for those with a broadband connection. I have included a small screen shot below so you get a feel for what the applet looks like with out loading the entire applet. I also recommend that you visit www.java.com and install the latest Java Runtime Environment for your browser.

Click here to start applet. Please be patient...
